Ray Winstone thinks Cate Blanchett is the best actress in the world

Cate Blanchett is the best actress in the world, according to fellow actor Ray Winstone.

Winstone praised the Lord of the Rings actress after meeting her on the set of their latest movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Blanchett swaps her usual blonde locks for a black wig to play villain Agent Irina Spalko in the fourth instalment of the Indiana Jones adventures.

Winstone said: "To me she's the greatest actor in the world. She really pushes the boat out in this one. She looks great."

Winstone, 50, says he is getting too old for action parts after pulling his hamstring on set of the Harrison Ford film.

He said: "As I'm getting older I seem to be running about more. I tore a hamstring while I was doing this one. We were running down these steps.

"I keep getting these action parts as I'm getting older but I want romantic parts. I want to kiss," he said on GMTV.
