Reese WitherspoonMovie beauty Reese Witherspoon has revealed she used to get turned down at auditions for not being pretty enough.

The 'Walk The Line' actress told US chatshow host Jay Leno how she could not count on her good looks to land her roles.

Asked about her worst audition, she replied: "Probably responses like, 'You're not tall enough' or, 'You're not pretty enough'.

"Like you audition to be a prostitute and you're told, 'You're not smart enough'."

Reese admitted she found it tough taking on the extra responsibility of producing her latest movie 'Penelope', starring Christina Ricci as a woman who has a pig snout instead of a nose.

She said: "The actor thing is easy. I used to complain about long days, but producers have even longer days.

"You have to get the money, you have to ask people to do favors for you."
