Pete Doherty demands $60k to model for clothing website

February 21 2008

Pete DohertyPete Doherty has clearly got an over-inflated sense of his own worth - demanding a staggering $60,000 to front a campaign for a bargain basement clothing website.

The website, lastseason.com, reportedly offered Pete, 29, $10k to strike a pose - but his reps sent back an email saying the offer was "batting substantially" below the mark, according to British newspaper The Sun.

The email said that Pete would need at least six-times the offered amount to haul his sorry ass out of bed and turn up for the shoot - six times more than nineties supermodel Linda Evangelista's once famous demand of $10,000 "to get out of bed".

A stunned spokesman for the fashion company said: "When they said  ?30,000 [$60K] I nearly had a heart attack. Who does he think he is, Claudia Schiffer?'

Pete first showed off his modelling abilities last year, in heavy eyeliner and a trademark hat for Italian fashion house, Cavalli, at a time when he was dating British supermodel Kate Moss.

His $60k demand puts him well ahead of model of the moment, Agyness Deyn, who banks $20,000 a go.
