Amy Winehouse acquitted

March 1 2008

Amy WinehoueTroubled signer Amy Winehouse will not be facing charges in connection with an alleged conspiracy to pervert the course of justice involving her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, Scotland Yard has ruled.

The 'Rehab' singer, 24, was arrested "by appointment" in December and voluntarily attended a police station.

Amy's rep said today: "Amy is pleased to be discounted from the investigation and thanks the police for their professionalism in their dealings with her."

Fielder-Civil is currently locked up in London's Pentonville prison -- after assaulting a barman, and then allegedly bribing him not to press charges. He appeared at a London court earlier today where he pleaded not guilty to a charge of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "A 24-year-old woman arrested by appointment at an east London police station on December 18 will not be required to answer bail following advice from the Crown Prosecution Service. No further action will be taken."

Amy, who's currently in France for Paris Fashion Week -- where she is being paid $1m by Louis Vuitton to appear at one of their shows -- failed to turn up to court to see hubby Blake in the dock.
