Mel B to launch her own fashion line

Mel B is set to go head-to-head with Spice Girls pal Victoria Beckham - by launching her very own fashion line, it has been revealed.

The 32-year-old former 'Dancing With the Stars' contestant - famous for her love of leopard print outfits and outrageous dress sense - reckons she can set up a label of her own - which is likely to leave Posh Spice furious.

A spokesman for Melanie, who has previously dated actor Eddie Murphy, said: "It's early stages, but she wants to set up her own company.

"It's better than fronting something for another label."

Victoria, 33, recently extended her DVB fashion label with bags, shoes and shades. And in 2004, she designed a limited-edition fashion line for Rock & Republic called VB Rocks, consisting mainly of jeans for the high end of the market, retailing at approximately $300 in the U.S.
