Patrick SwayzePatrick Swayze's new TV project will go ahead despite his diagnosis with pancreatic cancer.

The sick star has shot a pilot for a show called 'Beast', which is under consideration for U.S TV network A&E.

In the Beast, Swayze, 55, plays a veteran but unconventional FBI agent.

"It is in contention to become one of the new drama series on the network," A&E said in a statement. "However, at this time all of our thoughts are solely with Patrick and his family. We are all wishing for a speedy recovery to a truly gifted actor."

A representative for Swayze says he intends keeping a 'normal schedule' despite ongoing treatment for the potentially terminal disease.
