Colin Farrell argues with model's boyfriend

Colin Farrell was shot down as he tried to chat up a model in a US bar - by her boyfriend, it has been claimed.

According to a US report, the Irish-born Miami Vice star, 31, tried to hit on model Meghan Lowther at the Rose Bar in New York's Gramercy Park Hotel.

The star - with a pair of "wingmen" - is said to have "ogled" the stunner then walked over as she was ordering a drink.

An onlooker said: "Farrell bumped into the fellow next to her and asked, 'Who is this guy?'

"Lowther replied, 'He's my boyfriend.'"

According to the New York Post, Farrell then told the man: 'You've got the most beautiful girl in the place, and you can't blame a guy for trying.'

"The boyfriend replied, "'You tried. Now get out of here.'"

Dad-of-one Farrell has been romantically linked to a string of Hollywood beauties - including Lindsay Lohan.
