Cops probe Heather Locklear "suicide attempt"

March 10 2008

Heather LocklearPolice and paramedics rushed to Heather Locklear's house on Saturday night, after a 911 call reporting a "suicide attempt".

A fire department spokesman said they dispatched emergency crews to the actress' home after receiving a call from a "concerned citizen".

But when the cops arrived at her mansion in Thousand Oaks, California, she was fine and not in any danger.

"Ms. Locklear said she was fine and there appeared to be no problem," Ventura County Fire Department Captain Barry Parker said. "Nobody in the house needed medical attention so we left after about 10 minutes."

The Fire Department and two paramedics' units arrived at Heather's house at around 8pm on Saturday night.

Parker said the "suicide attempt" call did not originate from the Melrose Place star's house, and was from a third party.

A source told celebrity news website TMZ.com the caller feared Heather, 46, was going to try and kill herself.

"We're satisfied this was a call from a concerned citizen, not a malicious call," Parker said.

But when cops arrived at the gated community in Thousand Oaks - west of Los Angeles - Heather was completely responsive.

"We determined there was no one in danger and nothing criminal going on at the house so we left," Ventura County Sheriff's Captain Dave Kenny said.

The actress is currently dating fellow Melrose Place alum Jack Wagner.

She split from ex-husband Richie Sambora in December 2005, and divorce papers were filed just two months later.

After their split Bon Jovi guitarist Sambora began dating Heather's close pal Denise Richards. News of the relationship ended their friendship.
