George Clooney denies engagement rumors

Hollywood hunk George Clooney has denied reports he is set to marry his cocktail waitress girlfriend Sarah Larson.

"These reports are not true," Clooney said through his Los Angeles-based rep, Stan Rosenfield.

Reports on Monday, quoted a restaurant worker in the Italian town where the Oscar winning 'Michael Clayton' star, 46, has a villa, as saying Clooney and Larson are engaged.

"They haven’t made any announcement yet, but there are people in this town who know more than me," said the restaurateur. "They say the couple are already engaged."

The story originated from an Italian newspaper.

Clooney & Sarah, 29, have been dating for less than a year. And the pair set tongues wagging at the Oscars last month - as Sarah was the first woman to be invited to walk the red carpet with the star - who has previously been linked to Renée Zellweger and Lisa Snowdon.

"It's not often you get to mix with the likes of Matt Damon and Angelina Jolie - but Sarah has had that privilege and she's loving every minute of it," revealed one source. "I think George has found someone he wants to really give it a go with."
