Indiana Jones to be immortalized in plastic

Indiana Jones is being immortalized - in plastic.

The movie action hero, played by Harrison Ford has been turned into a dashing action figure, complete with fedora and whip, by toy giant Hasbro.

The new range of action figures  also includes new characters Mutt Williams, played by Shia LaBeouf and Agent Irina Spalko played by Cate Blanchett.

There are also well known characters from the other three Indiana movies such as Marion, played by Karen Allen.

A spokesman for Hasbro said: "Hold on tight, because Indiana Jones - the world's most adventurous archeologist - is donning his fedora and will be conquering the big screen once again this May, and Hasbro is along for the fun.

"With his trusty whip, well-worn leather jacket and an uncanny ability to attract trouble, Dr Jones heads to points unknown in the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which arrives in theaters May 22.

"Hasbro captures all the edge-of-your-seat excitement with its new Indiana Jones toy line.

" Fans of any age can ward off villains using the new Indiana Jones Sound FX Whip or grab a replica of the sword used by Indy's newest sidekick, Mutt Williams.

"Aspiring adventurers can also share the thrills with friends by navigating Indy through some of the movie series' most iconic escape scenes with the new Indy's Lost Temple of Akator Playset.

"And, of course, Hasbro launches a full line of more than 30 action figures heroes and villains from across the entire four-movie saga, allowing kids and fans alike to collect the adventure and replicate favorite scenes from their favorite Indiana Jones films."

Hasbro has released the figures to coincide with the opening of the fourth movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on May 22, 2008
