Tilda Swinton hates Harry Potter
Oscar sensation Tilda Swinton has revealed the one movie she would never have appeared in - Harry Potter.
The star, who won the Oscar for best supporting actress for her role in ‘Michael Clayton’, says she hates the blockbuster Potter series because it “fetishizes boarding school for children”.
“I’m loath to say anything good about going to boarding school, which is one of the reasons why I’m not a believer in ‘Harry Potter’,” Tilda told a U.S. magazine.
“Because I believe it fetishizes boarding school for children.”

ok now that is just stupid … harry potter is the best and for some kids boarding school is a good thing! imagine all the abusive parents there are nowadays, to some kids , sad but true, those kind of schools seem like homes! just like hogwarts is a home to harry! these types of schools are nice for those kids that have nothing or came from somewhere where they were shunned or singled out…they could make friends here just like harry made friends at hogwarts…just because tilda swinton had everything she wanted all her life dosnt mean all kids had the same life she did! stupid broad needs to read the book before she judges it…

Why does anyone care whether or not Tilda Swinton doesn’t like Harry Potter. There are millions of people in the world who love HP and her opinion is not going to mean anything in the grand scheme of things.

I can understand if she hates boarding school, but my husband attended a boarding school in the states and loved it. It was his home away from home.
Also, the reason Jo placed the setting at the school was because she wanted the children together all the time so certain things could happen. If they went home every night, things would change.
To me, this is like stating you’ll never be in a library again because all librarians MUST be like Madam Pince. Well, okay, maybe not THAT drastic. :)
Seriously, though, I have no problem with her opinion, but I’m with the 2nd comment - why should we care again? ;)
Loved Swinton in Narnia, and to me, she’s the perfect White Witch. Glad she’s there instead of in HP.

Oh please. Boarding school books go way back. What does she think of Enid Blyton’s books?
