Amy Winehouse's dad denies relapse claims
Amy Winehouse's dad has blasted recent reports the troubled star is on the verge of a relapse.
Mitch Winehouse, 57, responded to claims that Amy's erratic behavior has returned, saying: "Staying out 'til 5am is what people her age do, she hasn’t relapsed."
The 'Rehab' singer, 24, reportedly stubbed a cigarette out on her cheek after being repeatedly asked not to smoke at a London restaurant and last week she was spotted partying with celeb pals at trendy nightspot Bungalow 8.
Mitch is confident that Amy’s best friend Kelly Osbourne will keep her on the straight and narrow. "If she’s with Kelly there’s no relapse," he tells Britain's Closer magazine. "Kelly’s a drug counselor, so Amy’s completely safe with her."
The singer also reportedly shocked friends during a night out in London last week - after snorting neat vodka up her nose - in a potentially lethal game called 'Gas Chamber' - which is particularly dangerous because it gets alcohol absorbed directly into the bloodstream.
"Amy was the life and soul - but even we were shocked by this party trick," a source said last week.
"She covered one nostril, tilted her head back and sucked the vodka shot down her open nostril through a straw.
"She threw back her head and reeled in shock and everyone around her looked stunned."
