Heather Locklear 911 call released

March 13 2008

Heather LocklearThe man who called 911 fearing Heather Locklear would commit suicide claimed to be a doctor worried about her safety.

The medic begged police and paramedics to visit the actress's house on Saturday night and check on her wellbeing.

"I have a patient and I have a feeling she's suicidal," he said. "I would want someone to go [and check on her]."

The frantic emergency call was released by authorities on Wednesday - four days after it was made.

The caller, whose name was edited out of the audio, tells the dispatcher that he called 15 minutes earlier to ask for help and is calling back to check on their progress.

The dispatcher asks for Locklear's address and telephone number, before telling the caller someone is on the way.

Ventura County Fire Department and two paramedics' units arrived at Locklear's home in Thousand Oaks, California, at around 8pm on Saturday night. But when they got to the gated community they discovered the Melrose Place star was responsive and not in any apparent danger.

"Ms. Locklear said she was fine and there appeared to be no problem," Fire Department Captain Barry Parker said. "Nobody in the house needed medical attention so we left after about 10 minutes."

"We determined there was no one in danger and nothing criminal going on at the house so we left," Ventura County Sheriff's Captain Dave Kenny added.

A rep for Locklear, 46, released a statement following the incident, saying, "[Heather] is fine. She never requested medical assistance and did not place a 911 call.

"Nor did anyone from her house call 911 or place a call requesting medical assistance."

Locklear is currently dating fellow Melrose Place alum Jack Wagner. She split from ex-husband Richie Sambora in December 2005, and divorce papers were filed just two months later.

After their split Bon Jovi guitarist Sambora began dating Heather's close pal Denise Richards. News of the relationship ended their friendship.
