Scarlett Johansson date sells for $40,100 on eBay

A date with sexy Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson is worth a staggering $40,100.

That's the huge price a British fan has paid to spend the evening with Johansson after she auctioned herself off on eBay.

The star was offering the highest bidder a chance to spend the evening with her at the premiere of one of her movies.

And the bidder - whose eBay name is Bossnour - shelled out just over $40,000 to win the auction.

Also included in the eBay package was two tickets to the premier of her upcoming summer flick He's Just Not That Into You which also stars Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore and Ben Affleck.

The winner will receive a chauffered car service to the premiere and their hair and makeup done by Priv?.

The lucky winner of the eBay auction now also gets be two tickets to the world premiere of the movie in July in either Los Angeles or New York - and some one on one time with Johansson herself.

However Bossnour is based in England and will have to pay the flights to New York or Los Angeles themselves.

In a bid to promote the date, a video played on the eBay site featuring Johansson who says: "Hi, I am Scarlett Johansson and I'm auctioning off two tickets to be my guest at the world premiere of my film He's Just Not That In To You.

"This auction benefits Oxfam, which is an international relief organization that fights poverty around the world.

"The winner of the charity auction will not only get to attend the premiere but 100 per cent of the proceeds go directly to supporting Oxfam's work so please, please, please bid high.

"Thank you for listening and thanks for your support and happy bidding."

Proceeds will benefit Oxfam America, an international development and relief agency which delivers development programs and emergency relief services, and also campaigns for change in global practices and policies that keep people in poverty.

The eBay listing also stated: "Scarlett Johansson is a passionate and commited advocate and fundraiser and has been involved with Oxfam since 2005.

"In 2007 she traveled to Sri Lanka and India to meet young girls who have a chance to go to school against great prejudice and poverty, and she also met families affected by the Tsunami on the coastline of southern Sri Lanka.

"Now you can take part in this special experience with Scarlett and support a great cause!  The winning bidder will receive:

"Two tickets to the world premiere of He's Just Not That Into You.  The premiere location has not yet been determined but will be in either Los Angeles or New York this July.

"Chauffeured car service to the premiere. Hair and makeup for one by Priv?. A meet and greet with Scarlett Johansson at the premiere."

The bidding ended on March 12.
