Ashley Alexandra Dupre's brother is a heroin dealer
When Ashley Alexandra Dupre was exposed as being the hooker in Eliot Spitzer's sex scandal, her oldest brother was in court accused of being a heroin dealer.
Ashley's family were already going through hell on Monday as her brother Kyle Youmans pleaded guilty to dealing heroin.
As they were trying to cope with the court nightmare, the New York Times broke the news of the prostitution scandal that would bring down New York's Governor Spitzer, one of the most powerful men in America.
Now Ashley has been exposed as the high-priced hooker who Spitzer arranged to meet in a Washington DC hotel for unsafe sex. And as well as dealing with the world knowing she is a prostitute, her family has to deal with the massive media onslaught that has sent Ashley into hiding.
Her brother Kyle lives with their grandfather, Peter Capalbo, in Lakewood, New Jesey - the same house Ashley, who later legally changed her surname from Youmans, lived in before chasing the high life in Manhattan.
As Ashley's hooker scandal started to unravel in headlines around the world, Kyle pleaded guilty in front of Judge Edward Neafsey as part of a deal with prosecutors. He is expected to be sentenced on April 14 to probation under supervision of the Ocean County Drug Court, where he already is being monitored as part of his sentence for a drug conviction last summer.
The 26-year-old is serving five years' probation on charges of drug possession, drug possession with intent to distribute and defrauding the administration of a drug test. He spent 25 months in the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility in Bordentown Township, N.J., between 2001 and 2003 for possession of heroin and intent to distribute the drug in a school zone.
Youmans was arrested by police in June 2000 when he was driving near a local high school. He had 39 drug packets inside his car, each containing 1 to 15 grams of heroin, authorities said.
