Minnie Driver to spend the summer "fat and happy"
Pregnant British actress and singer Minnie Driver has declared she'll spend the summer "fat and happy".
The first time mum-to-be is months away from giving birth but told one US magazine she's already bracing herself for sleepless nights.
"I'm going to be a very tired mother, I'm sure!" she said at a season premiere of US TV series The Riches, in Hollywood.
"No, I'm going to be happy," she added. "I'm going to be a happy mother."
The 38-year-old has a busy couple of months coming up - she's releasing her album, Seastories in the UK and touring Europe, Hawaii and LA. But after that, Driver says, she'll be getting in plenty of pre-baby R 'n R.
"I'm just going to have the summer to be fat and happy," she said.
But comments made on the red carpet by her co-star Eddie Izzard have raised questions about the child's father, who Driver hasn't revealed.
According to reports, he gushed about how she'll make a great mum - but then seemed to suggest Driver could be doing it single-handedly.
"As long as there is one parent there that is giving love, then the kid is going to do great," Izzard said. "I think she'll be a good mom because it needs love."
Driver announced her pregnancy last week on a US chat show and later joked about baby names with TV personality Ellen DeGeneres. She revealed she's four months along and hopes it's a girl, but didn't name the father.
The screen beauty wore a figure-hugging Calvin Klein at last week's premiere and was later spotted sipping water at the afterparty.
Driver's fellow cast member Todd Stashwick added: "She's got a heart as big as the world. I think that could only [benefit] her children."
