Heather Mills' attorney slams the London courts

March 20 2008

Heather MillsThe top American attorney hired by Heather Mills has slammed the London courts for their treatment of her new client.

Tough-talking Gloria Allred also blasted Judge Hugh Bennett for branding Mills a "less than impressive witness" who gave "inconsistent and inaccurate but also less than candid" evidence.

The legal eagle said: "I think it was an unnecessary personal attack, especially because the court knew he was making it public and that one day Heather's little girl would learn about this attack on her mother.

Allred - hired by Mills after her bumper $48.6 millionĀ  divorce pay-out from Sir Paul McCartney - told PageSix.com she does not believe the public have been given the full story.

She said: "This was very unfair because the judge would not release the transcripts (of court proceedings) so the public could see for themselves what evidence Heather presented and how professional and courteous she was in the courtroom."

The LA-based lawyer refused to comment on reports Mills poured water over the head of McCartney's attorney.

She would only say: "Divorce is very painful and emotional, especially when there is a disproportionate balance of power.

"Heather was very courageous to have fought her legal battle by herself."

Sometimes I think that

Sometimes I think that Heather mills is too cock sure of herself. I'd never be so brazen, but maybe that's why Sir Paul was attracted to her in the beginning?
