Man who killed himself on Mel Gibson's property worked on movie sets
The workman who committed suicide at Mel Gibson's new home in Agoura Hills was a construction foreman on a number of movie sets, including The Matrix Reloaded, Dr. Dolittle 2, Star Trek: Nemesis, and Karate Kid II, it has emerged.
According to TMZ.com, the victim - who has been named as 48-year-old John Van Dyke - was also listed as a prop foreman for the remake of Psycho.
Sources say Van Dyke - who was yesterday found at Gibson's was property "in full rigor mortis" - was a long-time friend of the contractor hired on the site and was going through financial troubles. He had no connection to Braveheart star.
Police say that no note was found by Van Dyke's body, but that it is being treated as suicide. Eddie Brown of the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department says that he was found hanging just 2ft off the ground.
Gibson was not at the site and has never lived on the compound, which is just one mile from his Holy Family Catholic Church.
