Jamie Lynn Spears is engaged, confirms Casey Aldridge's cousin

Jamie Lynn Spears is engaged to Casey Aldridge, his cousin, Tina Robinson has confirmed.

"He proposed a few days ago, and she accepted," Robinson tells Us Weekly magazine.

But Robinson hasn't seen Jamie Lynn's ring -- and is unsure whether the pair, Spears, 16, and Aldridge, 18, would marry before they become parents for the first time this summer.

"They probably weren’t expecting [the proposal] to be, like, right now, but with her being pregnant, that really pushed it up," Robinson explains.

'Zoey 101' star Jamie Lynn announced she was expecting her first child in December.

Around the time of their big news, Aldridge's uncle, Odus Jackson, 71, said he was "hopeful" for a future wedding.

"It would be something that we could all look forward to in time and that it would not be a forced thing even if it happened," he said.

Jamie Lynn -- the younger sister of troubled pop princess Britney Spears -- recently got her GED.

She and Aldridge have been spotted around her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana.
