Gwyneth Paltrow's mom denies she's splitting from Chris Martin

Gwyneth Paltrow's mom has blasted internet reports the actress is set to split from her Coldplay star husband Chris Martin.

Blythe Danner insists the pair -- who tied the knot in December 2003 -- are happily married.

"Good god, it's just so tragic that people have to make up stuff," she said. "I've never seen two happier parents — or people — so I don't get it."

Blythe said of her grandchildren -- Apple, who turns 4 in May; and Moses who is about to be 2 -- "They're pretty fabulous.

"Yesterday my little grandson [Moses] says, 'Don't go! Don't go!' You just don't get that kind of love from everybody.”

As for reports that Paltrow, 35, plans on quitting Hollywood, Danner insisted that the actress, who stars in May’s Iron Man, "very much wants to go back to work.

"She didn't set out to be a movie star — she set out to be a wonderful actress," she adds. "But motherhood is very important to her, as it was to me, and I think she's finding balance."f
