Heather Mills looking for homes in New York

Heather Mills has been looking for apartments in New York.

The former glamor model -- who recently received a $48.6m divorce settlement from ex-husband Sir Paul McCartney -- was seen wearing a wig and fanny pack as she browsed a selection of Manhattan real estate.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Heather came into the city to look at three apartments. One was in Jackson Square in Greenwich Village and another was a large duplex with a terrace."

Heather, 40, was set to drop off daughter Beatrice with McCartney, 65, in the city, but the parents came to blows and refused to see each other.

Once Mills finished apartment hunting, she had Beatrice, 4, dropped off at the airport and continued on to the West Coast alone.

Her rep, Michele Elyzabeth, says Mills was in L.A. until yesterday and is now in Vegas for the Miss USA pageant.

And she was wearing a wig because, "she probably didn't want people to recognize her," said the rep.
