Madonna gives up on second Malawian adoption
Pop superstar Madonna has canned her two-year bid to adopt a Malawian girl -- and will instead support the orphan financially from Britain.
The 'Material Girl' star -- who turns 50 this year -- told aides she has been left "exhausted" by a mountain of red tape.
The singer's adoption of Malawian son David Banda, 2, was finalized this month. Pals were sure she would be bringing home Mercy, also two, as a sister for him.
But Madonna -- who has two other children and is married to British film director Guy Ritchie -- feared another two year legal battle.
A family insider said: "Madonna wanted to adopt a boy and a girl.
"But Mercy’s relatives objected and she had a complete turnaround.
"Everyone was stunned. Normally nothing will stop her.
"She now believes David will be the last child she adopts. Instead she will support orphans through her charity."

Yeah, Angelina skank jolie adopts kids for the novelty of having kids from different countries. Madonna has set up a $3 orphanage in Malawi and has done a lot of awareness work for Malawi and Africa, as well as donating to aids research; which is a big problem in Africa. It is a shame she wasn't able to adopt the little girl but she won't fiht to take her if the relatives object she wouldn't have taken David if the father had of objected and she hasn't been shoving him in front of cameras constantly like Brangalina has, THEY SUCK!

Why is everybody so tough on Madonna? Angelina Jolie basically walks in and walks right out with an adopted baby. If I was Madonna I would be so mad at those people for rejecting her and her willingness to help that I would just say "forget it" and not even send any support.
