Lindsay Lohan's sister starts work on her first film

Lindsay Lohan's 14-year-old sister, Ali, has started work on her first film project, Mostly Ghostly, in Los Angeles, it has been revealed.

Ali's role shares similarities to that of her older sister's character, Cady Heron, in the 2004 film Mean Girls: She'll play "a popular high school senior" in the movie, a source tells People magazine.

Ali recently told Teen Vogue that she wanted to be famous "so bad", adding, "I grew up watching Lindsay. It made me want to do what she does. Just the whole vibe. Being there, being on camera, or on-stage."

The film, which is due for release later this year, is based on R.L. Stine's pre-teen book series Mostly Ghostly, which centers on an 11-year-old boy who befriends two ghosts.

Ali, who has spent the past several weeks shooting her upcoming E! reality TV show with her mother Dina in New York City, Long Island and Las Vegas, is also recording a new album.
