Lily Allen blames her flop TV show for weight gain
Lily Allen blames the stress of presenting her flop TV show, Lily Allen and Friends, for her recent weight gain.
The singer says now the show is over, she is desperate to lose her "fat" tummy and get back to a size 8.
She said, "Look, I don't look great at all.
"I've put on so much weight with all the stress of my TV show. I'm glad it's over."
The 'Smile' singer's show attracted desperately low viewing figures and her presenting efforts were panned by critics.
But the 22-year-old will only get a momentary spell of respite after BBC bosses gave her a second series.
Lily, who has received treatment for depression in the past, says she has ballooned back to a size 12 because of over-eating.
She suffered a miscarriage at the beginning of the year and suffered further turmoil after splitting from boyfriend, Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons, after a five month relationship.
She was also dramatically dropped as the face of luxury lingerie firm Agent Provocateur.
She now blames her weight on "sitting in front of the telly with two packets of ginger nuts and two bags of milk bottle sweets."
An outspoken critic of size-zero models, Allen -- the daughter of British actor/comedian Keith Allen -- is now vowing to slim down and "cut back on all the crap."
"Now the show is over I am sure I will lose some weight", she said, adding, "I hate fat tummies so I hope it goes by summer."
But she won't be relying on fad diets, and vows to lose weight "naturally as well as exercising in the gym twice a week."
Earlier this year Lily said on her blog she was "trying to get back to normality after what has been a rocky start to the year."
She said: "I have been miserable lately."
