Kylie Minogue abandons plans to crack the US

April 27 2008

Kylie MinogueAustralian pop princes Kylie Minogue has abandoned plans to crack the US market after her latest attempt failed.

The furious singer told a pal, "I gave it my best shot. I won’t try again."

Kylie, 39, has only had two top ten hits in the US, The Locomotion in 1988 and Can't Get You Out Of My Head in 2002.

Earlier this month, she appeared on The Today Show, Dancing With The Stars, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Late Late Show to promote the US release of her album X. But the record failed, debuting outside the top 100, coming in at #139 on the Billboard 200 with sales of just 6,000 copies.

Minogue had called the U.S. market "notoriously difficult" in an interview on Today, saying "You have so many denominations with radio. To know where I fit within that market is sometimes difficult."

I hope not !!! Honestly

I hope not !!! Honestly Kylie you didn't really try!!! i am a die hard kylie fan. You did a few shows and that was it. Your song should have been on the radio atleast a month before the album release. It is okay. you need some place you won't get attacked by the paparazzi. I do fail to believe the record company promoted her properly
