Annie Leibovitz defends Miley Cyrus pics
Controversial photographer Annie Leibovitz is speaking out in defense over the semi-topless photos she took of teen sensation Miley Cyrus for Vanity Fair magazine.
"I'm sorry that my portrait of Miley has been misinterpreted," the famed snapper said in a statement. "Miley and I looked at fashion photographs together, and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it.
"The photograph is a simple, classic portrait, shot with very little makeup, and I think it is very beautiful."
The Hannah Montana star, 15, issued a statement saying she was "embarrassed" over the photos and apologized to her fans.
The Disney Channel claims the magazine "manipulated" her, but a Vanity Fair rep insists that, "Miley's parents and/or minders were on the set all day. Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley."
Michele Combs, a spokesperson for Christian Coalition of America, says Disney should reprimand Miley for the photo.
"Disney should reprimand her," Combs says. "Kids look up to her.
"Something needs to be done.
"If she's gonna go out there and represent wholesome values, she needs to be more accountable for her actions," she said.

I do agree that it wasnt
I do agree that it wasnt great as a roll model to have pics like that taken at such a young age. But i really do hope that she isnt made to feel bad about such a tastefull pic of herself. It wasnt vulgar at all but classy. I think that and hopefully she will see it later that it is something to be proud of. This is art done by a very respected photographer, thank god it was annie leibovitz and not playboy or hussler(or worse) that got there hands on her.
Hopefully parents will be smart enough to explain this situation to there kids in a way that isnt harmfull or negative. If your worried your kids might see these pics then maybe you need to pay more attention to what your kids are watching, and supervise there internet time a bit more. Cause there are deffinetly worse things on tv and the net then these photos.
