Tom Cruise desperate to convert David Beckham over to Scientology
Despite animosity between their wives, Tom Cruise is still trying to persuade David Beckham that "Scientology is a life-changing and wonderful thing."
Cruise, who attended Beckham's LA Galaxy soccer game in Los Angeles yesterday, has prevously tried to convert David's wife, Victoria, over to the controversial religion -- but with little success.
A source said: "Tom hasn't quite given up on persuading David that Scientology is a life-changing and wonderful thing.
"But he tends to see David privately. He thinks David is more malleable than Victoria. She is less pliable, stronger and more opinionated."
Cruise, 45, and David, 32, have gone out on the town in Los Angeles several times in recent months as well as going running together in the city's Fryman Canyon.
Victoria Beckham's relationship with Cruise's wife, Katie Holmes, has reportedly come under strain because of her reluctance to embrace Scientology.
"Katie and Tom want to surround themselves with fellow Scientologists these days, and they are distancing themselves from anyone who is not a believer," a source said.
"For Tom, a non-believer like Victoria is very dangerous. She is opinionated, strong-minded, privately very against Scientology and has voiced her doubts."

PLEASE TOM GET OUT OF THE
PLEASE TOM GET OUT OF THE CULT FOR YOUR SAKE AND YOUR KIDS!
i agree. the cult of
i agree.
the cult of scientology has been riding roughshod over people's lives and the american tax system. they have been involved on many suspicious deaths, and they have even got their own labour camps.
while this sounds outlandish, i assure you it is not.
the labour camps are called the RPF. one of the many dead was called lisa macpherson, and teh first protest i saw was held on her birthday.
tom cruise is as much a victim as he i a figurehead, but he sill bears some responsibility for the cult, as a famous endorsee of this heinous organisation.
i have no issue with the belief system. i take issue with the practices of the cult and it's leaders, not with the beliefs of it's followers.

Should David Beckham follow
Should David Beckham follow Scientology?
Dunno, how does he feel about an oppressive cult who has a known history of destroying families, stalking and harassing ex-members and critics, has a pay-for-play structure without full disclosure at the beginning like other religions, and is known to force child labor per Jenna Miscaviage Hill on Nightline last week.
I’m going to go with NO.
Just a quick peek at ANY source outside of the official ‘church’ sources is very very telling. No wonder they want to control all communication and public relation about themselves. With that kind of thing going on, I wouldn’t want anyone investigating either.
Scary Cult is Scary...but hopefully their reign of terror, oppression, and misinformation will all be over soon.
It's a life-changing thing,
It's a life-changing thing, all right -- it'll take as much of your money as it can, while steadily brainwashing you into a cult member.
Scientology is a cult. The Church of Scientology is a business masquerading as a religion. The only reason they've gotten away with hoodwinking people for so long is that they've COPYRIGHTED all of their religious texts, been incredibly litigious, and aggressively threatened and stalked any followers who've decided to leave -- even now, it's hard to find ex-Scientologists willing to speak up.
The Internet age means that Scientology can't hide its true purpose anymore, and all the information is out there to inform yourself. This is why Anonymous are holding monthly protests outside of Scientology centres worldwide. Scientology's been gliding by on secrecy and celebrity for too long -- take a stand and spread the word.
$cientology is a money
$cientology is a money hungry cult led by a tiny little man with a little person complex. The cult will not survive the internets.
I was just starting to like
I was just starting to like Becks again because I thought he was distancing from the freak'n cult.
Please David, you're an inspirational footballer. Don't get involved with these crooked $cilons.
