Gwyneth PaltrowActress Gwyneth Paltrow has given a rare insight into her views on religion, revealing she believes "there is something out there".

The 35-year-old 'Running with Scissors' actress, famous for her love of yoga and macrobiotic food, has lifted the lid on what really makes her tick.

"I believe Mohammed and Jesus and Buddha and Shiva are all the exact same thing: an energy, our link to something larger than ourselves," she said. "I do believe there is something out there and you can channel that energy."

Paltrow, who's married to Coldplay star Chris Martin, added to Britain's Heat magazine: "Although I don't talk about my husband in interviews, I have heard him describe songwriting in that way.

"Life is short and so precious and you have to make the best of it. It is not the big houses, the big cars, the wardrobes full of clothes or the diamonds; it is knowing that you are happy with yourself and that you have made a worthwhile contribution."
