Pete Doherty to be released from jail after 29 days
Troubled rocker Pete Doherty is to be released from jail after just 29 days -- despite being given a 14 week sentence and taking heroin behind bars.
The Babyshambles frontman received the 98 day sentence after defying orders to take drug tests during a suspended sentence for drugs possession, but is now planning a party for his release.
A source said: "He’s planning to go straight to play a gig — and then get smashed.
"He wants no business appointments for three days — so he can really go for it."
It was last month revealed that the 29-year-old singer was taking drugs in the detox unit of London's Wormwood Scrubs jail.
His sentence has reportedly been halved and a further 18 days deducted as part of a scheme introduced last summer to ease jail overcrowding.
Ex-Home Office minister Ann Widdecombe said Thursday, "Nobody should ever come out that early."
