Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal to be "engaged any day now"

Hollywood couple Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are reportedly set to be "engaged any day now".

A source close to Brokeback Mountain star Gyllenhaal claims the actor is on the brink of proposing to the Legally Blonde actress.

The source told America's OK! magazine: "They've been talking marriage for a while.

"They'll be formally engaged any day now. They want to spend the rest of their lives together."

Witherspoon -- who has two children -- daughter Ava, eight, and four-year-old son Deacon -- with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe -- is keen to wed Jake because she doesn't want her kids to see her "living in sin".

"This is a very serious relationship," the source explains. "But Reese is very conservative and traditional. I'm sure she doesn't want her kids to see her 'living in sin'."

Reese's rep had no comment on the rumored nuptials, while Jake's people claim there are no immediate plans for a wedding.
