Ellen DeGeneres plans to marry girlfriend
Ellen DeGeneres has revealed she plans to marry her longterm girlfriend.
During a taping of the "Ellen DeGeneres Show", the 50-year-old talk show titan told a surprised audience that she plans to wed her partner of 4-years, former Ally McBeal star Portia de Rossi.
Ellen's news follows yesterday's California Supreme Court ruling striking down the state's ban on gay marriage.
Ellen also told The Advocate magazine how she felt about the landmark decision to legalize same-sex marriage in the state.
"I’m thrilled that the California supreme court overturned the ban on gay marriage," she said. "I can’t wait to get married. We all deserve the same rights, and I believe that someday we’ll look back on this and not allowing gays to marry will seem as absurd as not allowing women to vote."
