Lindsay Lohan sued over mink coat theft
Lindsay Lohan is being sued by a New York City college student who claims the actress took her mink coat without permission and kept it for more than two weeks.
In a lawsuit filed Monday, 22-year-old Maria Markova says the Mean Girls star took the $12,000 golden sheared mink coat while in the nightclub 1 Oak on January 26.
Markova's lawyer, Merrill Cohen, says Lohan, 21, had been sitting next to her client.
Cohen also says Markova next saw her coat on Lohan in a photo in OK! Magazine; and that she called Lohan's people and demanded the coat. She says Markova finally got the coat back on Feb. 14.
Cohen says the lawsuit, filed in Manhattan's state Supreme Court, asks unspecified damages.
Lohan's lawyer, Blair Berk, said it would be inappropriate to comment on the case.
