American Idol producers want David Cook to win

May 21 2008

David CookSimon Cowell has already revealed he wants David Cook to win American Idol; and now, it appears, so do Idol's production team.

"The producers are really hoping that David Cook wins," a source says. "David Archuleta cannot be managed the way that 19 Entertainment wants to manage their winners."

19 Entertainment, which produces the hit show, signs the winners to management contracts and handles the recording agreements made within the Sony/BMG record label.

The source adds, "David Archuleta comes to the table with his own plans and agenda. His father is another shade of Joe Simpson, and it can only spell disaster."

However, according to the source, Cook, 25, is, in the eyes of the producers, "extremely manageable.

"The show has enough on its hands trying to get ratings back to where they used to be. The last thing they want is a rogue winner."

This article is hardly fair.

This article is hardly fair. David A's Dad doesn't have control over him anymore. If he were to win American Idol I think he would stand up to his Dad and he himself would make a great album that all of his fans would be very proud of.

David Archuleta is no idiot.

David Archuleta is no idiot. Clive also probably already had that talk with him- break free of your dad if you want a successful career. If Archuleta wins AI, he'll tell his dad "thanks for everything but I think I'm ready to make my own decisions now".

Being from Utah myself, I

Being from Utah myself, I was really hoping David Archuleta would win. I think the sympathy card played a part in Cook's winning because of his brother
