Michelle Williams is making a movie about her tragic former fiance Heath Ledger so their two-year-old daughter together can see what her superstar dad was really like.
The former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ actress — who was left devastated when the 28-year-old ‘Brokeback Mountain’ star was found dead in his apartment after an accidental drug overdose in January this year — wants the actor’s friends and co-stars to share their stories on him so little Matilda can see her father through their eyes.
A source revealed, “This is incredibly important for Michelle to do. It makes Michelle’s heart ache that Matilda was so young when Heath died and she’s unlikely to retain any memories of her father.
“She wants to keep his spirit alive with something Matilda can treasure all her life.”
In her first public statement in February about Heath’s tragic death, Michelle, 27, expressed her grief but said Matilda was helping her cope.
She said, “I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father. All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day.”
Heath and Michelle met on the set of ‘Brokeback Mountain’ in 2004 and Matilda was born in October 2005. The couple split in September 2007.
