Scandal Plan Comeback Album

Reunited eighties act SCANDAL are to release a comeback album four years after a U.S. TV show brought them back together.

The project will feature the group’s first new material since they split in 1984.

Singer Patty Smyth will team up with original bandmates Keith Mack and Benjy King for the reunion, with bass player Tom Welsch and drummer Eran Asias joining the group.

The short-lived pop group tasted huge success in the early to mid-1980s thanks to the hits Goodbye To You and The Warrior.

Smyth, who is married to tennis icon John McEnroe, went solo when Scandal disbanded, and tasted huge success in the early 1990s with her Don Henley duet Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough.

Scandal reunited briefly in 2004 for a performance on VH1’s Bands Reunited series, and the group toured with Rick Springfield as part of the cable network’s We Are the ’80s tour in 2006.
