McCready In Rehab

LATEST: Fallen country music star MINDY McCREADY has entered rehab for “undisclosed reasons”, her representative has confirmed.

It was reported McCready had checked into a treatment facility after attempting to end her own life last week (begs14Jul08) by mixing a lethal dose of vodka and prescription drug Ambien, used to treat insomnia.

A hospital in Nashville, Tennessee has now confirmed the 32-year-old was admitted on 16 July (08).

And the singer has also entered a rehabilitation clinic, reports People.com.

Her spokesperson says, “Mindy McCready did receive emergency care at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Other issues made it prudent for her to seek longer-term and broader-based treatment.

“To her credit, she has entered into an extended-care facility where she will receive the care needed. And for the moment we ask that everyone respect her privacy.”

The singer has endured a series of personal struggles in recent years.

In April (08), she admitted to conducting a long-term affair with Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens.

And just last month (Jun08), she was released from jail for violating the terms of her probation, stemming from a July 2007 arrest for battery and resisting arrest after an alleged struggle with her mother.
