Mariah Carey Wants Husband to Get a Job
Mariah Carey wants her new husband, Nick Cannon, to get a job.
Cannon and Carey married in a secret ceremony on the Caribbean earlier this year — but the pop superstar wants her spouse to start earning his own money and become famous in his own right.
A source says, “Mariah wants him to at least have the status that DJ AM had when he was dating Nicole Richie.
“She wants him to start modeling. She wants him to start meeting with well-known designers.”
Cannon, who starred in in the 2002 film Drumline and more recently Roll Bounce with fellow rapper Bow Wow, has been working DJ gigs lately but Carey thinks Cannon is capable of much bigger fame.
The 27-year-old is OK with Carey’s involvement in his career. “He’s not upset; he thinks it’s a great idea,” the source tells Life & Style magazine. “He knows Mariah wants him to become more famous.”
