Voight Warns Voters Against Obama In Newspaper Rant

ANGELINA JOLIE’s actor father JON VOIGHT has written a scathing review of U.S. presidential hopeful BARACK OBAMA’s campaign tactics – branding the senator “a man who falls short in every way”.

The 69-year-old veteran penned a critique of the popular politician in a piece for the Washington Times, entitled My Concerns for America, which was printed on Monday (28Jul08).

Voight slams the Democratic Party in the piece, accusing them of using a propaganda campaign in their bid to get Obama into the White House.

And Voight warns voters that America will become a “socialist” nation if Obama secures power, insisting the U.S. will become “weakened” if he wins the November (08) elections.

In the article, Voight writes, “The Democrats have targeted young people, knowing how easy it is to bring forth whatever is needed to program their minds.

“Obama has grown up with the teaching of very angry, militant white and black people… (who) will gain power for their need to demoralize this country and help create a socialist America…

“If, God forbid, we live to see Mr. Obama president, we will live through a socialist era that America has not seen before, and our country will be weakened in every way.”

    Mr. Voigt’s comments have no basis in any sort of reality, and it is sad to see this sort of ranting given a public audience just because he is famous. This summary gives the piece a startling amount of creedence- the real op-ed is just the crazed ramblings of a has-been, in a paper that is unabashedly right-wing and owned by the Moonies.

    We’ve had a ‘strong’, militaristic president for 7 years- how much good has it done us? Wouldn’t we be better off with a diplomat, who could united the world in support for us, and help mend the poverty and broken fences that have caused these terrorists to rise up in the first place?

    There was a report released this week that showed that historically, a militaristic approach has worked to end a terrorist action exactly 7% of the time. Now there’s a winning strategy.

    Go Obama. Don’t listen to the crackpots, you’re going to be the best president since Lincoln.
