Thornton To Star In Nightmare On Elm Street Remake

BILLY BOB THORNTON will star as FREDDY KRUEGER in a new NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET movie.

The 53-year-old actor will take on the chilling role in a remake of the 1984 original.

Robert Englund, who played the part in eight films, revealed that Thornton will star in the horror films and is an “excellent choice” for the role.

He adds, “A big budget should mean the film will look a lot better than some of the old movies.”

    I will see this is Billy Bob does play the role. But I for one am sick of remakes… I need Hollywood to stop doing this crap and start adding to the series like they did with Silence of the Lambs. Give more back story, continue on where the story left off, add a new character that is a copy cat… I don’t know, something other than remake. No one is original anymore.

    Hello? are you guys crazy? billy thornton, ewww, he sucks, Robert Englund is the only true freddy nobody can be freddy but robert englund hes the best, besides if they use thornton it will flop at the movies, please don’t use thornton it will be like the remake of the hulk, it bomb!!!!!!!

    I think Billy Bob is the perfect choice for that role. He would be a great addition to the remake of that classic movie. Billy’s persona alone should make for a very interesting “Freddie Kruger”. I can’t wait !

    has anyone seen this guy? an unknown (non SAG) look alike who is trying to get noticed. Neat try though, hes got the look anyway.

    What to you mean.. “Have you seen this guy?” Do you not know who Billy Bob Thorton is? Do you pay attention to movies? Is your parents basement that dark that you don’t know an Oscar nominated actor may portray Freddy? Trying to get noticed?!! I don’t think Billy Bob needs to “be noticed”. You flippin’ douche bag, go back to playing Magic or World of Warcraft and keep dreaming about girls that you will never be with.

    Let it be we don’t need any remakes, the original was the best and it will remain the best and only Robert Englund can play Freddy. and that being said Freddy is Dead!!

    it is just a rumor!!! I was in disbelief at first then I sadly believed it…the script isn’t even finished..no one has been cast to play freddy…nor should anyone unless it is Robert!!!!
