Replacements Drummer Found Dead
Former THE REPLACEMENTS drummer STEVE FOLEY has died from an accidental prescription drug overdose. He was 49.
Foley joined the pop-rock band in 1990 after founding members Tommy Stinson and Paul Westerberg reportedly met him in a Minneapolis, Minnesota bar and hired him on the spot.
The drummer performed with the band until its final show in July, 1991. After his brief encounter with stardom, Foley returned to being a car salesman in Minneapolis.

theres allot of talk about Steve and his music and drug over dose. It really has little to do with Steve my friend who was always a friend who showed up who loved life and all of his friends. and for the record his death was not in his plans. Nor did drugs have much to do with his life at all. He was trying to make himself do something that didn;t fit into his DNA as much as he wanted it too. And it ended up hurting some people who he Loved and because Steve was a man of such heart he had a pill now and then to try to find a little peace from the pain not to die. so I d say one of his gifts to us all is follow your heart and your own direction even if its not something that anyone else understands. its ok what ever your style is. steve never meant to hurt a soul he did his best just like we all do everyday he didn;t judge others at all. Keep the stories true this guy was amazing and death last week end was not in his plans, i know this in my heart.
