GOLDIE HAWN, DIANE KEATON and BETTE MIDLER’s 1996 buddy movie FIRST WIVES CLUB is set to become the latest film to hit the stage as a musical, thanks to Motown’s biggest hitmakers.
Rock + Roll Hall of Fame inductees and Motown legends Brian and Eddie Holland and Lamont Dozier are working on an original score for the stage spectacular – which is scheduled to debut in San Diego, California next summer (09) – on its way to a Broadway run.
Holland-Dozier-Holland are responsible for some of the soul world’s biggest hits – they penned tunes for The Supremes and the Four Tops, among others.
Both the 1996 movie and the new musical are adaptations of Olivia Goldsmith’s novel.
