Rocker PETE DOHERTY has a geeky secret – he was a chess champion at school.
The Babyshambles singer, who has battled addictions to heroin and crack cocaine since 2003, was a model schoolboy who also excelled at dancing and playing soccer, according to a former pal.
And he was also a hit with classmates for his cheeky pranks and his obsession with London soccer team Queens Park Rangers.
Former classmate Emily Baker says, “I remember him being an incredible dancer and really good at chess and football (soccer). My mate’s still got one of his QPR football scarves.
“At school he was a bit cheeky and always took things too far.”
