AMY Winehouse has been put on suicide watch — after it emerged she tried to kill herself in front of pals with a knife.
The Rehab hitmaker, 25, reportedly tried to take her own life after learning her jailed husband Blake Fielder-Civil turned down a chance for early parole from prison.
Amy further worried pals by telling them it was her destiny to die young just like her Sex Pistols idol Sid Vicious, who died at the age of 21 from a heroin overdose.
The star’s friends and family are now watching over her 24/7.
A source tells Britain’s Daily Star newspaper, “Amy said she was ‘caught up in a nightmare’.
“Her friends managed to get the knife away from her but are now holding a 24-hour watch on her.
“Amy has a death wish. Her emotions are exaggerated. She is either high as a kite or, when she hears something she doesn’t like, she’s suicidal.
“She is all for this stupid Sid Vicious notion of dying young. She is not scared of it and believes it’s her destiny.”
