Janet Jackson is suffering from vestibular migraines — an unusual condition that creates the sensation of vertigo, her rep said Wednesday.
The singer, 42, was forced to postpone 9 of her shows across North America after being admitted to hospital in Montreal last month.
But she is now eager to hit the road again after receiving treatment.
A statement from her publicist reads, “After a thorough medical evaluation, it has been confirmed that Janet’s symptoms are being caused by a rare form of migraine called vestibular migraine or migraine-associated vertigo, for which she is currently receiving treatment.”
Janet is expected to resume her Rock Witchu tour tonight in Washington.
“She’s a world-class entertainer and needs to be at the top of her game to give her fans the show they expect,” the statement added.
“She’s feeling much better and is ready to hit the road again to finish the tour.”
Jackson’s show at Madison Square Garden, originally slated for Thursday, has been rescheduled for Nov. 1.
New dates for the other postponed concerts are being worked out and will be announced shortly, her rep said.
