Guy Ritchie has fired back at estranged wife Madonna – by recruiting Britain’s leading child custody specialist.
The pair announced last month (October 15) that they would be divorcing after almost 8 years of marriage.
Madonna, 50, hired top lawyer Fiona Shackleton to represent her in the proceedings.
And Guy, 40, is said to be so determined to keep their three children – Lourdes, Rocco and David – living in the UK that he has hired top legal eagle Stephen Cobb QC – who hailed as an expert in cases where a child’s country of residence is an issue.
Ritchie is said to have called on him amid claims the Material Girl wants to settle in New York with their three children.
Julia Ribet, a former colleague of Mr Cobb, said of him, “He is extremely highly regarded in resolving these kinds of disputes.
“He is just the kind of person you would want on board.”
Despite apparently preparing themselves for legal showdown, the pair are said to want to settle out of court.
But any agreement may take a while, with insiders saying the two parties are still “miles apart”.
