Ricky Gervais Nominated For Best Actor in a Motion Picture
British comedian Ricky Gervais has been nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture in the International Press Academy Sattelite Awards.
The star, 47, is up against Sam Rockwell, Josh Brolin, Michael Cera and Brendan Gleeson in the Comedy or Musical category for his role as dentist Bertram Pincus in the 2008 movie Ghost Town.
It is the first time Gervais – who has accumulated a multitude of awards and honors throughout his career, including seven BAFTA Awards; four British Comedy Awards; three Golden Globe Awards; two Emmy Awards and the 2006 Rose d’Or – has been nominated for his role in a movie.
Results are announced on 14th December 2008.
Ghost Town, which also stars Greg Kinnear and Téa Leoni, has remained within the top ten UK Box Office for over six weeks – and it’s well worth seeing if you haven’t already.
