Mariah Carey has further fueled rumors she’s pregnant with her first child – by scrapping plans for an upcoming world tour.
The Touch my Body hitmaker – who married singer Nick Cannon in a secret ceremony on the Caribbean earlier this year – reportedly announced Wednesday that she wouldn’t be hitting the road.
A source tells the New York Daily News, “Costume designers and dancers were all called Wednesday and told the tour is off.
“Most were hysterically crying because they were relying on her for a paycheck this holiday season.”
A representative for Mariah said that “a tour was discussed, but nothing was confirmed.
“I have not been told she’s pregnant.”
Mariah recently spoke of her plans to have a baby – but refused to comment on whether she was already expecting.
In an revealing interview with Britain’s Hello magazine the singer – who once insisted that she didn’t want to have children – says that meeting Cannon, 27, has made her long for motherhood.
She told the publication, “People are constantly asking me if I’m pregnant, but I don’t like to talk about it too much. I just think about it as the next phase. We’ll see.
“I’ve changed my mind [about becoming a mother] because I’m with The One. I think we would make good parents, and that we’d be able to figure out how to do it properly.”
