Hugh Jackman is set to host the Oscars.
The actor – who stars alongside Nicole Kidman in new movie Australia – has been chosen to front the 81st annual Academy Awards ceremony on Feb. 22 in Los Angeles.
The show is getting a makeover this year with new producers, a new set director and a new music director.
“We want the ceremony to be fun,” says Laurence Mark, producer of the telecast. He says Hugh “can hold the screen and he can hold a stage. It doesn’t hurt that he looks amazing in a tuxedo.”
