Jade Goody has been rushed back to hospital.
The former Big Brother star – who is battling cervical cancer – had emergency tests when her condition worsened with a flu-type virus while appearing in panto.
The tests revealed Jade’s chemotherapy drugs had reduced her count of infection-fighting blood cells to such a dangerously low level that doctors wanted to admit her immediately.
A source tells Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, “Jade was desperate to appear in panto and not let anyone down.
“Although her treatment appears to have been going well, it may have been a case of too much too soon.
“She is very prone to infection and has obviously picked up something which has hit her incredibly hard.”
Jade – who was allowed to go home on condition she had complete rest after hospital tests – was told she will be taken into hospital later this week if her health does not improve.
