Sharon Osbourne Eyes Strictly Come Dancing Appearance

Sharon Osbourne wants to appear on Strictly Come Dancing.

The rock matriarch – who is married to former Black Sabbath star Ozzy Osbourne – admits she was asked last year to appear on the smash hit ballroom series, but turned down the offer as she felt loyal to her old show the X Factor, which competes with Strictly.

But Sharon says she is now keen to hit the dance floor and learn some fancy footwork.

She reveals, “That’s a happy show. I love it, love it, love it.

“They did approach me to go on last year – but I thought it would look really bad as it goes up against the X Factor. I owed it to them not to do that.

“I’d definitely think about it [appearing in the 2009 season].

“I can just picture me rehearsing at home with Ozzy – me and him doing the paso doble.

“But my biggest ambition, believe it or not, is to do panto in England. I love it. I’m dying for that, seriously. I think I’d be a brilliant fairy godmother – failing that, I can always beat someone up on stage!

“The Americans don’t understand – men dressing up as women, women dressing up as men, yelling, ‘He’s behind you’ and ‘Boo hiss!’ But it’s such a brilliant tradition, and I would love to do it. At Christmas time it’s the funniest thing to do.”
